We aren't gonna die in year 2012 why? We've been in big bangs before, they are just humongus stars that explode and become a black hole, and its peices come into more stars and planets and moons and what not. And besides! Its not even a BANG we can't HEAR it or SEE it or FEEL it! Also, we have been hit before and we lived, what are the chances of we are gonna die NOW? The sun is FARR from "cooling" off, it has only gotten a LITLE coolen off from were it began it has alot more to go through, we won't die until 5 billion years from now!
