Api Suggestions.

1. Limit the guest name length, some people put about 100 character long names just to destroy the chat.

2. Allow players to see what gametype players are playing from the lobby. It's hard to know what you're joining otherwise, this could be done by letting the developer string the gametype or such onto the start of the room name.

3. Allow developers to make advanced options while creating a room visible by default, somtimes players don't even know the option to change the gametype is there. Pretty annoying.

All the last forum pages are belong to nobody.

I think you have some kind of counting error for your posts in the forums. If you have the last page turned on then occasionally you will be unable to go to the last page, even though the link is there (and correct) you will just be redirected back. It's normally fixed when another person posts or you have to turn off the paging altogether.Score is 6

Game Download Toggling

I know the swf files are wrapped so they are not actually downloading your game and there is less fear of having your game hacked, but there should be an option to toggle downloads so other people cannot upload your game on other sites and get credit for it.Score is 6

mobile phones.

i enjoyed using nonoba on my phone, but when this "newnoba" change thing came my phone was no longer capable to use nonoba, so I say you guys should come up with a nonoba mobile version for mail and such.

since this new change i cant look at my mail or reply to them on the go.Score is 6

Uncounted Achievements

About 20 achievements are currently uncounted.Some of them are hidden.They are not like rejected achievements.Some are still shown on my profile but game pages.It's pretty weirdScore is 6

Rewards for developers?

I can semi-remember it being said by one of the admins a while ago along with them saying they would add the "uploaded/developed by" system, but AFAIK there haven't been any "rewards". I was thinking more upload space per .swf and other pointless yet cool stuff like that. :)Score is 6

Age Limit

I think it's a good idea to let new users input their age when signing up and check whether it's less than 13. Granted this won't stop many users but it will let everyone know there's an age limit.
I know there's a Terms of Service but not many users read that either.

Low Game Ratings

When users rate games very low (2/10 or lower for example) a message should come up that is similar to the one when you add a game to your favourites, something like this:

and the reason given would then be submitted to the developer/uploader.

This would help in 2 main ways.

Firstly, if a game is truly awful, the poor person who made it would be alerted to this, and hopefully would then go away and improve it. The same would apply to uploaded games, and hopefully this would help cut down on some of the not-so-good games, that just get uploaded some that someone can have
"Developer Level 1" on their profile.


Secondly, this would help prevent some of the users that just scroll through all the recently uploaded games, rate them as 0, and get 5xp for the effort. Therefore people might actually start to think about how they rate games, and what they actually gain by badly rating everything.


I suppose you could say that this could be abused by just bashing the keyboard when prompted for a reason, but if that is so, people would just rate games well to avoid the bother of writing a reason at all.Score is 5

XP/Level mess

Okay, so there Nonoba tells me I need 8 xp to get to level 9. So I go rate a few games (Also, no more 5 xp per rate for the new games? SadFace.) and then I'm at level 9.

Then I go back to my homepage, and Nonoba tells me I need 184 XP to get from level 8 to level 9.

What's wrong with the XP/level system?

Adjust Nonobar Favorites on Game Deletion

When a game gets deleted from your Nonobar (and to a lesser extent, your favorites), it would be nice for a message to appear in your news to the effect of "Hey, remember this game that you used to play? It's gone now."

If a game is deleted because there's a duplicate, it would be nice for the Nonobar and favorites to switch to the version still on Nonoba. If this is done, you probably don't need to send a message alerting users to a deleted game.Score is 5

Versions Page

On the versions page of one of a users uploaded games

underneath the Game Dll upload option it says:

"The server side dll for you game. Only if it's a multiplayer game."

It should read:

"The server side dll for your game. Only if it's a multiplayer game."Score is 5

Links in chat

I think that when you type a link in chat, it should turn into a link instead of some text.
They should make it clickable. (If that is a word)Score is 5

Starland TD

Hello dear Nonoba Team.

I write in the Name of the majority of the Top Players of Starland TD.

A Bug appeared on Starland TD, we yet do not , but it is by now clear to us what happens. It mostly happens just before Air 8 when you sell something, that you can sell it more times.

By that a player I played had towers worth more than 200 Credits more on the field than Credits would have been available that time.
And we all agree that the new Highscore is made that way too. It is based on 15 kills on Air 8, you can easily sum that up.
And all top player agree on the fact that Level fast 11 can only be reached if we do a perfect game with mistake if both players achieved a 16 on Air 8.

We also agree on that, if nothing happens about this cheater, and the fact that cheating is possible, most of us will leave nonoba.

If you want, I can send you screenshots of the game where the guy cheated against me.

I also have two ideas how the cheating could have happened, feel free to contact me about that.

In the forums, when looking at a thread, put the title of the forum thread in the header of the page. It's annoying because if I've multiple tabs open there is no way to differentiate between different posts.Score is 5

Stop Users From Making Alts To Vote Comments Down

I came across a thread with almost all the comments voted down. Not only was this hard to read, it was kind of disappointing. Most of the comments voted down were productive. Then I saw this comment.

"Then a coupla months later I voted all the serious peoples stuff down."

So, this basically means that the user chose to vote the productive comments down. This brings me to my feedback. Stop allowing users to make alts to vote comments up or down. It is unfair in the feedback section because the poster can make alts and vote it up, making useless feedback be put on the "Best Rated Feedback". This is also unfair in the forums because if a user doesn't agree with the topic (http://nonoba.com/forum/nonoba/abusing-your-right-to-customise-and-pointing-the-finger-of-shame-another-css-thread) Then he can vote down all the posts agreeing with the topic using multiple alts. This needs to be stopped. Maybe only allow a maximum of 1 vote for each IP address?Score is 5

Hidden Status

Allow mods and admins to "Hide" in the chatroom. If they didn't show up in the chat box they would be able to catch users breaking the rules more effectively. There would also be less rule breakers because no one would ever know when a mod/admin in in the chat watching them.Score is 5

Noba

It would be nice if the Noba told us when a friend logged into Nonoba or went on chat.Score is 5
